Free Tee Trademark Check · for the community

Know if your slogan is a trademark — before the takedown does.

Paste a phrase (later: upload a design). A Claude agent pulls out every phrase, searches public USPTO records for live marks in apparel classes, and tells you in plain English what it found — with links to the official records.

We want a trademark check to become as routine as spell-check: free, open, and about 10 seconds long. Our year-one goal is half a million free checks.

Not legal advice. Tee Search is informational only. It reports what public trademark records say; it can't tell you whether a use is legal. For decisions that matter, ask a trademark attorney.

The problem

Sellers find out too late.

  • Slogans are trademarks too

Everyday phrases are registered for clothing (class 25). Printing one on a shirt can be infringement, even if you came up with it yourself.

  • Takedowns cost more than a listing

Etsy, Amazon and Redbubble remove listings on IP complaints, and repeat strikes can suspend a whole shop.

  • The official search is hard to read

Live vs. dead, classes, owners, similar wording — the USPTO records are public, but not written for shop owners.

How it will work

Three steps, run by a Claude agent.

  1. 01

    Extract every phrase

Claude Haiku 5.5 splits your slogan into the full line and every meaningful sub-phrase. With a design upload, Claude Sonnet 5.5 reads the text printed in the image first.

  2. 02

    Search public USPTO records

The agent looks for exact, near and sound-alike matches among live marks in apparel classes, and checks each record's status, class and owner.

  3. 03

Explain the risk in plain English

Claude Sonnet 5.5 writes a short verdict per phrase — what was found, why it matters, how similar it is — with a link to the official record so you can verify it.

FAQ

Is this legal advice?

No. It's an informational search with plain-English notes. It can't clear a phrase for you — only a trademark attorney can advise on that.

Why is it free?

Individual sellers are the ones hurt most by surprise takedowns and can least afford checks. We cover the AI costs for them; shops that want continuous monitoring will pay for Catalog Guard.

Which trademarks does it cover?

US marks from public USPTO records, focused on apparel classes such as class 25. It doesn't cover copyright in artwork, unregistered marks, or other countries.

What happens to the slogans I check?

They're sent to the Claude API to run the check. Under Anthropic's commercial terms they aren't used to train models, and we don't sell or publish them.
